An invoice is a general accounting document that proves a purchase or a sale. An invoice attests to the claim of a creditor towards a debtor, in other words the debt of a customer towards a supplier. Establishing and issuing an invoice implies compliance with certain legal obligations, particularly in terms of VAT.
